The Libraries & Learning Resources provide support for teaching, learning, and research at Colleges & Institutes affiliated to RC Yanbu.

Organization Structure LRC

The Institution will provide sufficient teaching and learning resources for the effective and successful delivery of academic programs in accordance with its vision and mission. The Institution will ensure that teaching and learning resources balance the need to provide challenging and engaging learning programs for students with the need for responsible management of available financial resources and the use of materials that do not offend students and the wider community due to their controversial nature.

Teaching and learning resources are defined as texts, videos, software, and other materials that staff use to assist students to meet the expectations for learning defined by the curriculum. These include, but are not restricted to:

·        Textbooks;

·        Reference Books;

·        Audio and visual recordings;

·        Multimedia;

·        Digital learning resources including video, audio, text, animations, and images;

·        Journals and periodicals (accessed online or via hardcopy);

·        Lectures and speeches.

Use of Computing Facilities

LRD users are bound to use the computing facilities in accordance with the policies, procedures and guidelines of the RCJY Information Technology Department. Use of LRD internet connections and computers is for academic purposes such as searching online databases, completion, and submission of assignments, OPAC and other educational purposes. The use of these computers for illegal and commercial purposes is strictly prohibited. Users are not allowed to install any software or use the external drive on the LRD computers.


Library Codes of Use


The Institution is committed to providing a conducive library environment. Pursuant to this, codes of use outlining the rules and requirements for library users will be posted in all libraries. All users are required to follow said codes. The LRD reserves the right to remove and prohibit future entry to any user who does not follow the posted codes.

All Institutional staff and students are eligible for a free membership and full access to learning resources via the Learning Resource Department (LRD). The user must undertake the membership procedure prior to making use of the borrowing service.

Penalty for Non-Return

Users are required to return borrowed resources within the stipulated timeframe. In the case of non-return within the stipulated time, the user’s library account will be suspended until the resources are returned. The Library will not take any overdue fines; no financial payments of any kind will be taken or received by LRD staff.


Lost/Damaged or Unreturned Resources

If a learning resource is lost or damaged while in the custody of a borrower, the borrower shall replace the resource or pay a fee of twice the current price or replacement (as determined by the LRD) of said resource to the Financial Affairs Department. Failure to replace the resources or pay the replacement fee will result in the suspension of the user’s account until the matter is resolved.


Clearance Forms

The LRD will sign the clearance form only when all borrowed items are returned. Deceased library users’ clearance form will be signed immediately without recovering the borrowed books.


Library Users Privacy

All records and other information relating to an individual's use of the LRD and its resources are considered confidential. These records include, but are not limited to, circulation records of LRD materials, address, and other registration information, reference or informational questions asked, and computer database searches. This information, however, may be consulted and used by LRD staff in the course of carrying out library business.

The access to the Library buildings are electronic card-controlled. You are requested to please observe the Library timing.

  • Libraries will close for Lunch & Prayer from 12 noon to 1.15 pm every day.
  • The services will close after the announcement 15 minutes before closing time for book stacks and reading areas close. Please be ready to leave at the closing hour.
