The mission of the RCYCI Libraries is to excel in supporting the academic and technical competencies of our users, in their core instructional and studying requirements. The libraries facilitate the educational, research and technological activities of the RCYCI community through development and provision of innovative information resources and services. We are committed to provide best possible resources, services and systems to our users. RCYCI Libraries are an essential source of information and is one of the excellent working libraries in the Kingdom. The RCYCI promotes, support and consistently works to achieve the highest level of Library service to the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu, its academicians and employees.

Vision

The Libraries & Learning resources department vision is to supports the educational organization in Yanbu industrial city that enhance the instructional and educational mission of higher education in RC Yanbu.

Mission

To see learning resources and libraries as fundamental to the curriculum and assessment, a catalyst of life-long learning and achievement for all the Library users.

Objective

The objectives of the Libraries are:

  • To strengthen the academic and intellectual endeavor of our users, in their curriculum and instructional requirements.
  • To support curriculum and assessment; and are committed to the dissemination of knowledge and improvement in the intellectual content of the users.
  • To help students and other Library users become information literate.
  • To help students and other Library users become lifelong learners and encourage them to read.
  • To support higher education and learning by providing information services to meet the needs of students and faculty.
  • To encourage scientific research.

General Rules and Regulations

The main purpose of these rules is to safeguard the common interest of all users and to enable the LRC to carry out its functions as efficiently as possible. Failure to observe the rules can lead to disqualification.

  1. Consumption of food and drinks is not permitted in the Library.
  2. Silence must be observed strictly in the Library.
  3. Reservation of seats is not permitted.
  4. Users must be decently dressed and conduct themselves properly in the Library.
  5. The LRC staff on duty has the right to request a user to leave the Library if he/she is found violating any of the Library rules.
  6. Use of mobiles is not allowed in the Library. Keep mobiles on silent mode.
  7. The users are not allowed to write on Library properties.
  8. The users are not allowed to leave the Library with any of the Library resources unless they have been properly checked out.
  9. Place used paper into the recycling box provided.
  10. On leaving the Library all users can be asked for inspection, if necessary
  11. Users are requested to leave the books/documents on the reading table after consultation.
  12. Do Not Connect Your Mobile with computers and don't try to install any software in Computer/IMac Lab.

Loan Check-out:

Borrowers can check out the materials they need in accordance with the LRC regulations.

 

Renewals:

A borrower may renew all his checkouts which are overdue only for one more time if he still needs them by visiting the circulation desk or e-mail library@rcyci.edu.sa.

 

Book Reservation:

Materials which are requested by another library patron can't be renewed and reserved to the requester.

 

Overdue Materials:

The Library section follows up and reminds patrons (directly, indirectly or by any other means deemed suitable) who do not return the materials by the due date.

 

Fines:

A borrower is fined one riyal per day for each overdue material and lending is automatically stopped. Fine continues (inclusive of Thursdays and Fridays) till the borrower returns the material and clears all fines from his record. All official vacations such as Eid al-Fitr and Al-Adha are excluded of the overdue fine period.

 

Lost and Damaged Books:

A borrower is obliged to replace the lost or damaged book with an exact similar copy; otherwise, he has to pay fourfold the book price (book price X 4).

 

Clearance:

Clearance form will not be signed unless the borrower has returned and cleared overdue materials and fines from his record.

 

The access to the Library buildings are electronic card-controlled. You are requested to please observe the Library timing.

REMINDER:

  • Libraries will close for Lunch & Prayer from 12 noon to 1.15 pm every day.
  • The services will close after the announcement 15 minutes before closing time for book stacks and reading areas close. Please be ready to leave at the closing hour.
